Data Deletion Request

1. Your Right to Erasure

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian data protection principles, you have the right to request that we erase your personal data when:

• The data is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected.
• You withdraw consent and there is no other legal basis for processing.
• You object to processing and there are no overriding legitimate interests.
• The data has been unlawfully processed.

2. What Data We Hold

Depending on your use of the platform, we may hold the following data:

• Your name and mobile phone number
• Your children's names, class, division, and school
• Order history and meal preferences
• EatBuzz wallet transaction history
• Payment transaction references (via Razorpay)
• Push notification subscription tokens
• WhatsApp message logs
• Ratings, reviews, and support tickets you have submitted
• Substitution consent records

3. What Gets Deleted

Upon a verified deletion request, we will permanently erase or anonymise:

• Your account profile (name, phone number, children's details)
• Future scheduled orders and subscription records
• Push notification tokens
• Ratings and reviews (anonymised — item scores retained in aggregate)
• Support ticket personal content
• WhatsApp conversation logs beyond the statutory retention period

4. What We Must Retain

Certain data must be retained to comply with legal obligations and cannot be deleted upon request:

• Financial transaction records — Payment receipts and invoice data are retained for 7 years as required by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and GST regulations. These records are retained in anonymised or pseudonymised form where possible.
• FSSAI food-safety records — Order and delivery data relevant to food safety compliance is retained for 3 years.
• Fraud prevention records — Where an account was involved in a fraud investigation, relevant records may be retained for the duration of the investigation and any subsequent legal proceedings.

6. Verification

To protect your data, we will verify your identity before processing a deletion request. Verification is done by sending an OTP to your registered mobile number. If you no longer have access to your registered number, contact us at hello@eatbuzz.in for an alternative verification process.

7. Timeline

• Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days.
• Completion: Deletion or anonymisation will be completed within 30 days of a verified request.
• Confirmation: We will send a confirmation to your email or WhatsApp once deletion is complete.

8. Effect of Deletion

Please note the following consequences of account deletion:

• Any remaining EatBuzz wallet balance will be forfeited. We recommend spending or requesting a wallet refund before submitting a deletion request.
• Active subscription plans will be cancelled without refund for unused days (except in cases where deletion is due to a service failure on our part).
• You will no longer receive WhatsApp notifications or service updates.
• Deletion is irreversible. To use EatBuzz again, you would need to register a new account.

9. Third-Party Data

Deletion of your EatBuzz account does not automatically remove data held by third-party services. Please refer to their respective policies for independent data deletion:
